I’m Walter Armatys, Judge of the 328th Judicial District Court of Fort Bend County. For eleven years prior, I was honored to serve as the Associate Judge for the 328th District Court. My commitment to family law has spanned nearly thirty years.
From a private practice attorney to a prosecutor, I served and sought to ensure the integrity of the law. My experience in the courtroom as defender, prosecutor, Associate Judge, and elected District Judge gives me a profound understanding of courtroom procedure, and the unique challenges of family law.
Presiding over hundreds of cases per year, my passion for serving families of Fort Bend County is unwavering. I have been a member of the Texas District 5a Grievance Committee of the Texas Bar Association and have spoken for the past nineteen years at various continuing legal education seminars. Through the years, I’ve been humbled to be honored for my efforts including being chosen as the recipient of the Crime Victims Alliance Volunteer of the Year in 1996 and the 2021 Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Professional of the Year.
My wife, Gail, and our children are proud to call Fort Bend County home. I’m pleased to be part of such a fine, diverse, and growing community. I continue to serve as a volunteer for both Fort Bend Ramps, a Christian-based organization that builds ramps for families in need, and as Co-Chairman of the Exceptional Rodeo, a Fort Bend County Fair committee that hosts a hands-on rodeo experience for intellectually and physically challenged children and young adults.
An active member of Faith United Methodist Church, I enjoy my church family and have been a Bible study leader there for over twenty-five years.
As the sitting 328th District Court Judge, I routinely handle cases involving child custody, property division, contempt of court, family violence protective orders, and termination of parental rights. While those cases are demanding, every month I look forward to bringing families together through adoption – particularly on National Adoption Day, which celebrates the healing, wholeness, and happiness of children and families. I will continue to keep an abundance of stuffed animals in my courtroom to give to the children who come through the court.
With this experience and a passion for the law and families, it will be my privilege to continue to serve the residents of Fort Bend County and I respectfully ask for your support and your vote.
